BIOCOMPLACK PROJECT IN VIDEO!

The BIOCOMPLACK project is a collaborative European project supported by the European Commission (program Horizon 2020 FTI Pilot-2015-1) gathering 5 Partners from Spanish, French and Italian nationality.

This project which has begun in 2016 aims to produce a new food packaging. It is designed to be biobased, biodegradable, industrially compostable and flexible using a multilayer structure with cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) to achieve excellent barrier properties. The purpose of this innovative packaging is to enhance the shelf-life of the packaging so as to have a better conservation of the food.

Within BIOCOMPLACK project, NaturePlast is in charge of defining and to industrialise compounds based on PLA in answer to applications requirements. The company has thus developed different PLA-based formulations in order to obtain biobased, biodegradable and industrially compostable films.

In 2018, the industrialisation of the PLA-based compounds and films production was carried out and optimised.
