A theme that directly echoes NaturePlast&#8217;s commitments. <\/p>\n\n<p>For several years now, we have been developing a <strong>range of bioplastics incorporating by-products from the sea<\/strong>: <strong>oyster, mussel and scallop shells<\/strong>, as well as<strong>seaweed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>These by-products are :<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Collected locally<\/strong>, mainly in Normandy and Brittany for shells, or from de-silting operations in Scandinavian canals for algae;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cleaned, dried and ground<\/strong>, while retaining their <strong>distinctive natural appearance<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Integrated into our formulations<\/strong>, to create materials with <strong>unique visual appeal<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>Why value them?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>These by-products, which come from local shellfish farming or the catering industry, are still little used and are often destined for disposal. Incorporating them into our bioplastics<strong>keeps them out of landfill<\/strong>, while giving them <strong>a second life<\/strong> in industrial or design applications. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Their added value:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <strong>distinctive visual effect<\/strong>: pearly, grainy, mineral<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Local or responsible sourcing<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A commitment to <strong>the circular economy<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>In 2025, at a time when more attention than ever is being paid to <strong>protecting marine environments<\/strong>, NaturePlast is pursuing its mission to <strong>add value to secondary resources from the sea<\/strong> by developing <strong>innovative, responsible materials<\/strong> tailored to industrial needs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Declared the Year of the Sea, 2025 highlights the challenges of preserving, sustainably managing and developing marine resources.
