The aim of FILASTERID is to develop an integrated, sustainable supply chain for the organic and inorganic parts of the two starfish species that proliferate on Brittany&#8217;s coasts, <em>Asterias rubens <\/em>and <em>Marthasterias glacialis<\/em>. The FILASTERID project aims to valorize starfish biomass in three specific ways:  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Functionalized fillers for biobased and\/or biodegradable polymers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Animal nutrition products<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Products for plant nutrition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Partners<\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Agro Innovation International (CMI Roullier)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mus\u00e9um National d&#8217;Histoire Naturelle (MNHN) &#8211; Concarneau Marine <strong> Station <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Southern Brittany (UBS) &#8211; ComposiTIC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Intervention NaturePlast<\/h2>\n\n<p>NaturePlast is involved in the biomaterials aspect of this project, processing starfish skeletons (grinding, micronizing, sieving) and incorporating them into polymers.
