A thermoset is a polymeric material that hardens irreversibly when exposed to heat or through a chemical reaction. Once cross-linked, it can no longer be melted or reshaped, unlike thermoplastics. Thermosets are valued for their rigidity as well as their good thermal and chemical resistance.
