Biocomposites

NaturePlast has been producing and marketing a range of biocomposites filled with by-products and plant fibers since 2007.

The range of Biocomposites produced and marketed by NaturePlast uses different plastic matrices (biobased, biodegradable, recycled or even virgin) to which by-products or natural fibers are incorporated.

Most of these by-products and plant fibers come from France. The aim is to integrate local by-products or waste into various polymers, promoting the circular economy and waste recovery in an innovative sector.

These channels have been selected for their industrial viability, particularly in terms of volumes and quality (batch reproducibility). These by-products come mainly from thefood industry (shellfish, seaweed, fruit and vegetables, etc.) and the agricultural sector, including plant fibers (wood, flax, hemp, miscanthus, etc.) and cereal residues (wheat, corn, etc.).

In addition to enhancing mechanical properties, these biocomposites also offer highly atypical designs that cannot be reproduced by simple coloring. In contrast to the range of bioplastic raw materials, whose appearance is much closer to that of conventional plastics, consumer differentiation is immediate.

This list is not exhaustive, as it is possible in some cases to identify and use new by-product channels targeted to a specific need.
