HIGH TECH

Bioplastics offer an opportunity for the high-tech sector to diversify its materials while meeting technical and aesthetic constraints, paving the way for products that are both high-performance and innovative.

Bioplastics are progressively finding their place in the high-tech sector, where their technical and aesthetic properties meet the demanding needs of the electronics industry.

Most of the applications concerned are structural, decorative or protective elements (casings, hulls, etc.) that require the use of materials that are either non-biodegradable (biobased PET, PA and PE), or have a long enough service life to ensure their functionality, such as PLA.

ADVANTAGES

  • Compatible with existing processes
  • Lightweight and robust
  • Mostly biobased
  • Potential improvement in environmental footprint
  • Unique design incorporating by-products

The use of compounds loaded with by-products is also increasingly in demand, due to the potential visual differentiation of finished products.

Bioplastics are therefore an interesting solution thanks to their combination of rigidity, lightness and aesthetic customization.
