In the transport sector, bioplastics have a wide range of applications, from interior vehicle components (dashboards, seats, panels) to exterior elements and packaging solutions for logistics.
Their light weight, combined with their strength, makes them a strategic choice for reducing vehicle weight, helping to cut energy consumption and CO₂ emissions.
ADVANTAGES
- Compatible with existing processes
- Resistance and durability
- Mostly biobased
- Potential improvement in environmental footprint
- Unique design incorporating by-products

There are three main application sectors:
- Flexible foams for seating in biobased PUR.
- Injection-molded parts can be made from biobased polymers such as polyamides (fuel lines, undercaps), polycarbonates (optics) or biocomposites using wood, flax or hemp fibers for structural or decorative elements.
- Decorative textile fibers (seats, door panels, etc.) in biobased PET, PLA or Sorona fiber (PTT).
