Bioplastics are of socio-economic interest, and often have a positive impact on consumers, who are increasingly sensitive to environmental issues. Being able to use more environmentally-friendly products is now a demand of most consumers.
- Product appeal
- Responding to consumer demand
- Positive company image

a positive corporate image
Without resorting to greenwashing, the use of bioplastics goes some way towards meeting these expectations, while at the same time conveying a positive image of the company marketing these eco-designed products. It’s also a valuable communication tool for companies, enabling them to adapt their containers to ecological content.
The use of bioplastics commits the company to a sustainable development approach, and positions it as an innovator. What’s more, launching new products based on these renewable plastics has a strong media impact, and sets the company apart from the competition.
A survey carried out by Nielsen IQ from February 16 to 25, 2021 among over 2,000 people, showed that 90% of those polled would like to see the development of alternatives to conventional plastics, and 86% would like to see policies that encourage companies to use sustainable materials.
