Agroboost

AGROBOOST: development of agrosourced agrotextiles, geotextiles and packaging with "boosted" performance and controlled biodegradation.

Objectives

The aim of AGROBOOST is to develop agrosourced textiles with total and controlled biodegradation without fragmentation , in order to compensate for a lack of suitable materials and high-performance products on the market, and to meet the needs of certain agrotextile and geotextile sectors in the face of regulations that will eventually ban fragmentable polymers.

The biobased components will be plant fibers, natural binders and biodegradable biopolymers (aliphatic polyesters and copolyesters) derived from biobased monomers.

The target applications for agrotextiles and geotextiles are :

  • Natural fiber felt mulches for plant protection
  • Twines and stakes for agriculture and horticulture
  • Nets to protect crops against climatic aggression
  • Packaging nets for fruit and vegetables
  • Short-life knitted reinforcement geotextiles

Natureplast intervention

NaturePlast is in charge of defining formulations for biobased and biodegradable compounds, as well as their production and industrialization.
