Algriplast

ALGRIPLAST: recovery of algae, cereal and vegetable by-products and co-products as matrices or fillers for biodegradable applications in the circular economy.

Objectives

The aim of the Algriplast project is to develop new biodegradable plastic materials and finished products by valorizing by-products from agri-food production.

Work will focus in particular on the search for new functionalities that can be brought about by the use of these by-products and derivatives in plastics processing.

  • Design of new bioplastic formulations from biomass or derivatives
  • Development of new rigid, semi-rigid and flexible applications
  • Controlling service life by modulating biodegradation kinetics
  • Setting up industrial processes for prototype production
  • Environmental impact assessment using life cycle analysis
