Objectives
The BioMar project aims to find an innovative solution, with reduced environmental impact, to an a priori paradoxical set of specifications: guarantee long-term functionality under variable ageing conditions (variations in temperature, light and humidity), without impacting biodegradability in the marine environment.
To address this issue, the consortium will work simultaneously on three tracks:
Setting up measurement protocols to simulate storage, not just aging in external use. These innovative protocols will subsequently be used on the formulations produced during the project.
Improving the characteristics of materials, mainly by additivation, to maintain the characteristics of a biodegradable product over long periods before use.
Measure the impact of improved durability on biodegradation in the marine environment, using orientation tests to assess biodegradation kinetics.
