Thermofire

Development of biobased, recyclable thermoplastic composites.

Objectives

The Thermofire project aims to develop low-cost, biobased and recyclable thermoplastic composites. The aim is to maximize the mechanical properties and fire resistance of thermoplastic polymers, by incorporating biobased, halogen-free natural fibers and flame retardants. Over the course of 4 years, three applications will be at the heart of the development and will give rise to the production of demonstrators:

  • Technical textiles
  • Automotive
  • Aerospace
