As part of the European Biorural project, we had the pleasure of co-organizing the Valorial’Connection on October 12, 2023, in partnership with Valorial, a competitiveness cluster specialized in agri-food in the Grand Ouest region of France.
The day was entirely dedicated to introducing Valorial members to the recovery of by-products from the agri-food and agricultural industries into biobased materials, in particular through their incorporation into bioplastic matrixes.
Back to the program:
- Conferences on biobased materials in the morning, with presentations by the Normandy Chamber of Agriculture, UniLaSalle, Mytilimer, Chaire Bioéconomie Néoma BS, BYSCO and NaturePlast.
- Tour of our facilities: plastics workshop, by-product processing area and laboratory.
- Biorural workshop with a focus on by-products from Normandy.
Once again, many thanks to all participants for these times of discussion.
These workshops are also being held in other European countries. The results will be analyzed by the Biorural project consortium, and will provide an overview of potential innovative solutions for the recovery of by-products.
For its part, NaturePlast is already adding value to numerous by-products, such as scallops, mussels and flax fibers, by integrating them into various plastic matrixes.
