Biobased PAs are a group of high-performance polymers: they have excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties.
They have been used industrially for several decades for technical applications (automotive, construction, etc.). They can have a high biobased content, often produced from castor oil, but are not biodegradable.
Biobased PAs are generally long-chain polyamides, namely PA 10 and PA 11.
