Domestic composting is carried out in the home, and therefore by definition under poorly controlled conditions and at a lower temperature (20 – 30°C) than industrial composting.
It can be carried out directly at the home, and is governed by standard NF 51-800: 2015, which attests to the ability of materials, packaging or other items to biodegrade under these conditions.
